STEP 1

Complete the Application

Begin the admission process by completing the application using the Florida Poly App and paying the $30 application fee.

STEP 2

Submit Required Documents

Before your application can be reviewed by the Florida Poly Graduate Admission Committee, we’ll need a few additional materials to complete your file. Submitting all required documents promptly ensures your application moves forward without delay and receives full consideration.

  • Submit official transcripts from each postsecondary institution attended to admissions@floridapoly.edu.
    If you are a current Florida Poly student or alumni, you can skip this step!
  • Submit two letters of recommendation.
    If you are a current Florida Poly student or alumni, you can skip this step!
  • Submit a Statement of Purpose.

International Applicants If your postsecondary institution is located outside of the United States, please have a course by course evaluation of your transcripts for US equivalency, with GPA calculation, we accept transcript evaluations through the following services:

STEP 4

Save Your Spot

Class Registration
The Office of the University Registrar creates all incoming students’ schedules to ensure you start off on the right track. You will begin receiving your schedules prior to the start of the term. You will not be able to receive your schedule until all your enrollment paperwork is complete.

Session Details

This session will demonstrate that practical risk management is for everyone, regardless of a formal program. Attendees will learn actionable and simple strategies that are easy to implement, enabling them to start immediately by focusing on their top risks to build greater operational resilience and ensure the sustained success of their auxiliary enterprises.

Presenter Profile

Michelle Powell serves as the pioneering Risk Manager at Florida Polytechnic University, the state’s sole 100% STEM-dedicated institution. Having been with the university for nearly 11 years, Michelle transitioned from a leadership role in Admissions in October 2023 to establish and evolve the risk management function from the ground up. In this solo capacity, Michelle builds robust frameworks for our dynamic, young university, overseeing our insurance portfolio, consulting on third-party and event risks, and developing critical campus-wide training programs. Michelle has obtained the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) Enterprise Risk Management certificate and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. Her distinct background in mathematics and engineering, combined with extensive higher education leadership, brings an analytical and strategic approach enhancing the institution’s resilience.
